love that you wanna know more about me!  

 

my name is pronunced TEY-ah and lots of folks affectionately call me Taya Ma.

 

i'm beyond blessed to have co-founded and to co-lead Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute, a transformative ritual arts and spiritual leadership training for women embracing the Goddess in a Jewish context.

 

my chant CD's in celebration of the sacred feminine, Wild Earth Shebrew, Halleluyah All Night, Torah Tantrika and This Bliss have been heralded as "cutting-edge mystic medicine music" and rock devotional tribe world-wide. 

 

i'm into embodiment and the ever-evolving play between living deeply in the present moment and cultivating our dreams. 

 

i'm on the adjunct faculty at Starr-King School for the Ministry and am a practitioner of Somatic Experiencing, a body-awareness-based trauma healing modality.

 

i make home, music and other magic in the California East Bay.

 

i mentor resonant individual students in sacred arts,  spiritual leadership and embodied vocalization.  mentorships focus on presence and prayer and engage sound and soma to open portals of possibility, power and pleasure.

 

i co-authored ​Siddur HaKohanot: A Hebrew Priestess Prayerbook, which after four sold out printings, is newly available again, and The Hebrew Priestess: Ancient and New Visions of Jewish Women's Spiritual Leadership (Ben Yehuda Press 2015).

 

the sweet synagogue in Maryland where I rabbi'd for a decade recently named me Spiritual Leader Emeritus ~ it's wild to be both esteemed & former.  i still conduct bar and bat mitzvah ceremonies for independent families and train bmitzvah officiants.

 

back in the day, i studied in the folklore of religion in a land called ivy league.  my deeper schooling was with devotees on remote beaches of bahia, brasil and on rowhouse rooftops in west philly.
